at The Design Museum in London

GCSE Art Graphics students at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form visited The Design Museum in London during the first week back after the October half term 2019.

Working with a professional games designer, the group created eye-catching and thought-provoking protest posters using digital design techniques on Apple Macbooks.

At the end of the workshop, students presented examples of their protest poster designs directly from their Macbooks on to a Smart TV screen. The protest poster themes explored by students at the school, which were all highly commended by the games designer, included knife crime, mental health, climate change, Donald Trump and Brexit.

After the workshop the group had time to visit the Beazley Designs of the Year exhibition, which included a motorbike manufactured using the latest 3D printing technology and digital posters that evolve in front of your eyes. The group were a credit to the school and were praised for their polite and excellent behaviour by staff at The Design Museum and the coach company.
