    ECT Support

All of our Early Career Teachers at Notley High School participate in the Early Career Professional Development Programme. This is a package of additional training and support designed to enhance the ECT’s 2-year induction period, and help them to further develop their skills in their new career. We work with the Education Development Trust, a provider appointed by the DFE who offer high quality professional development. ECT’s work through one block (module) per half term through a combination of self-directed study, regular mentor sessions and training sessions.

All ECTs are allocated a mentor who play a key role in supporting their progress and development through their induction period. Mentors, like ECT’s are fully supported in their role by the Education Development Trust and use the principles of Instructional Coaching; a strongly evidenced model of support for improving teacher practice.  Mentors have access to high quality CPD materials and attend training events to ensure they are fully equipped to undertake the role.
