Cashless Catering

Cashless Catering

At the start of the Spring Term 2009 we introduced cashless catering throughout the school.

The system had proved to be very successful, with queues being served far more quickly.

Our biometric system is based on fingerprint recognition technology. The system works by taking measurements of the fingerprints, but they do not capture a complete image. This means that the original fingerprint cannot be reconstructed from the data.

The benefits of the system include

  • No cash in the dining hall - smoother meal service and has sped up delivery and reduced queues
  • Reduced administration through prepayment for meals
  • Parents and carers no longer have to worry about finding dinner money each day
  • Children with free school meals are anonymous

Payments can be made by credit card or debit card via ParentPay or PayPoint cards which can be ordered by the school. The introduction of ParentPay has assisted with this process as it has direct links to the cashless catering system to automatically top up accounts.
