Overview
Moving from Primary to Secondary school can be a very overwhelming process for both students and their families. At Notley, we do all that we can to make this as smooth a process as possible.
Our programme begins by holding Year 5 taster days with our local Primary feeder schools. Prospective students have the opportunity to undertake samples of different lessons and subjects ahead of their time here with us at Notley. The Primary Liaison team outreach to the local Primary schools to host assemblies for the new Year 6 students ahead of their time here with us.
The yearly Open Morning allows both future students and parents the opportunity to get into the school and have a first-hand look at the subjects available. In addition to this, we also host coffee mornings for parents which include an insight to what Notley looks like on a traditional school day along with Q&A sessions with key members of staff.
Our partnership with Tottenham Hotspur has allowed us to offer the opportunity for local Primary schools to receive free coaching sessions from our coaches. They have been lucky enough to get into a number of different schools already and have worked with all age ranges across the schools.
Induction Days
Each year we run two inductions days for our new Year 7 intake. This is great opportunity to meet other students that will also be joining Notley in the new academic year. Over the course of the two days, students will be taking part in a wide variety of lessons and activities where they will be working with many staff. A typical timetable for these days is seen below.
