Every year we support the training of trainee teachers across a wide range of subjects and Key Stages. Many of these colleagues have trained through Mid Essex Initial Teacher Training, the outstanding School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider, which is based at Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form. However, we also work with a range of other providers, and have a strong track record of training outstanding trainee teachers. We do our very best to help candidates with strong potential find suitable providers and placements. As Lead School for Mid Essex ITT, a number of our staff are seconded to the scheme for part of their week, fulfilling roles such as Course Tutors, Professional Mentors, Lead Subject Mentors and Mentors, affording them with the opportunity to contribute to Initial Teacher Education across the 16 schools of the Mid Essex ITT Consortium.
We regularly offer observation days and teacher shadowing opportunities to prospective trainee teachers.
