It has been very good to welcome students and colleagues back to school this week. Uniform is much improved and has been commented on by both visitors to the school and local residents who have taken the time to email me to say this. Thank you for your support.
On Tuesday we hosted 6 schools as part of Anti-Bullying Ambassador training linked to the Diana Ward (https://diana-award.org.uk/our-programmes-and-initiatives/anti-bullying). Our students conducted themselves exceptionally well throughout the whole day and Mrs Ketley will be leading this initiative across our school as part of our continued work to develop the HEART of our community.
Sporting fixtures have continued and today sees a GCSE and 'A' level Art trip as well as a Careers trip. Rehearsals for the Spring Concert are gaining momentum and Year 10 students and families are in the process of confirming their work experience placements with Mrs Robb. In addition, Year 9 students have led tours and student panels as part of our next round of staff recruitment for September. They were all excellent role models for our school. This week’s Book club included a review of Mrs Morton Brown's new book. Mrs Morton Brown is our School based counsellor.
Last night saw the launch of the Year 9 options process and this is followed by next week’s National Careers Week (information below).
National Careers Week (NCW) - from Mrs Robb
National Careers Week (NCW) is a one-week celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK.
As part of this, each subject area will highlight the careers available within their sectors, and discuss the knowledge, skills and qualifications needed to be successful.
Please find see below a useful guide for parents, providing information and advice on all the options after GCSE and sixth form, as well as teenage health and wellbeing.
There is also a virtual careers fair which can be accessed here: https://ncw2025.co.uk/

We believe in encouraging and rewarding effort and achievement. Students earn HEART points which focus on positive behaviours for learning and the development of each and every student’s character.
We believe that by providing students with HEART points, students are encouraged to engage fully with all opportunities available to them.
They also provide a framework for students to achieve their personal best and to be rewarded for it.
Through our planned curriculum and focus on HEART, we strive to develop 6 character virtues which are in line with our whole school ethos of ‘Enjoy, Enrich, Achieve, Aspire’.
