Dear Parent/Guardian,

Music lessons at Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form

We are offering individual music lessons in partnership with Essex Music Service. Music lessons will take place during the school day by specialist music tutors. You can find further information in the Parents’ Guide to Music Lessons.

How do I apply for lessons?

To add your child to the waiting list please register on our system by 12 March 2025. When you register you will be able to see which instruments, we offer within your child’s school. Lessons will begin in the Summer Term 2025 subject to the availability of a suitable tutor.
Please register on this link: https://ukessex.speedadmin.dk/registration?signupSchoolID=1554#/courselist/25

Can I get financial help in paying for lessons?

There are free 15-minute lessons for Looked after Children, Adopted Children and those who have had contact with Social Care.

Please register Tuition Discounts here.

Do you need an instrument?

You will need to take an instrument to your lesson, except for lessons on the piano, drum kit, and keyboard. If you do not own an instrument our low-cost Instrument Hire is available for all Essex children. Please allow at least 2 weeks for us to get your instrument ready.

How much do lessons cost?

We provide 30 lessons throughout the academic year. The standard termly charges are below and do not include any financial help:
10 x 15-minute lessons per term (recommended for beginner level) = £91.50 per term
10 x 30-minute lessons per term = £183 per per term
10 x Paired lessons for 20 minutes = £61

Here are our Terms and Conditions for Parents (Autumn 2024) - Essex Music Service and you can sign up to our free newsletter, In Tune, which details some of our wider opportunities https://www.essexmusichub.org.uk/site/schools/resources/newsletter/.

We look forward to developing your child’s love of music!
