Dear Parents and Carers,
Additional INSET (non-student Day)
Thank you again for your time and feedback last week and I look forward to meeting more families at this week's drop-in. This letter focuses on our INSET Days (non-student days) and plans for staff training and professional development for next academic year.
We have already published our term dates and INSET days (non-student days) for next year on our website. These can be found here: Term Dates - Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form. These days are vital for ensuring our hardworking and committed staff remain well trained in the most effective strategies and approaches to help our students make the very best progress they can and to achieve their personal best.
Having reviewed the training programme for next year and the improvements that we need to make, the Trust has granted us one additional training day on Monday 4th November. This means that students will return from half term on Tuesday 5th November.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly, as we know how valuable time in school is for students of all ages. I do, though, believe that this extra investment in training and development time at the mid-point of the Autumn Term will support staff and therefore your child/ren as we address, at pace, the key areas for improvement in our school.
I do understand that this additional INSET day may require some adjustments to your schedules, and I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. As I hope you will understand, I am looking to communicate as quickly and effectively as I can. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please not hesitate to reach out to us via [email protected]. We are here to assist you and address any queries you may have.
Yours sincerely
Mr M Barrow
Headteacher
