The staff and students at Notley High School chose to support the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity this half term. This is a local charity based in Essex which helps provide emotional and physical support to those that have been diagnosed with this illness.
As usual, the students have been fantastic and rallying together and organising events to raise money. Abby Hart, in 10O singlehandedly made over 100 loom bands using the colours of our chosen charity and these were sold across the school. We also had a raffle organised for which Sam Flint, 9O, donated some of his Jack Petchey money so we could buy a brand new Kindle Paperlight as first prize. On Friday 11th July, non uniform day took place along with our famous bake sale. As the donations came flooding in, there was a renewed sense of enthusiasm and compassion across the school. All in all, we raised a total of £1200.
Over the course of this academic year, we have raised over £6000 for various charities. Credit really goes to all the staff and students that helped, supported and donated throughout the week. And a really big thank you to all our supportive parents/careers for encouraging their children to be so charitable.
We look forward to raising even more money for those less fortunate next year, and hope to receive your continued support.
