On Wednesday 7 October 2015, a group of sixteen teenagers went to Stubbers Adventure Centre near Ockendon, Essex. When we got to the location we were taken to a large hall where we were given a briefing, including being spoken to about respecting others. We then went to the tunnels. There were two sheds which were labelled ‘1’ and ‘2’, and Jason, our supervisor, told us what we would be doing.  We were given suits and a helmet along with a number for roll call. It was pitch black and we had to go through the tunnels where there were obstacles. We looked after each other throughout the course.

After tunnelling, we had lunch where we sat with our friends around tables. After lunch we went outside where we undertook a range of team building activities. We were split into two teams of seven and had to build a raft from large empty barrels and six long planks of wood.  We had to use ropes to keep our raft together. My group were successful and we managed to make it to the pink buoy by paddling and then we went back to shore, took it apart and went back. Raft building was my favourite part of the day. Ten of us were invited back to another day. I was one of those and I am really looking forward to it.
