Thank you to everyone who took part in the most recent charity day on Friday 15 March 2013.  As well as a non-uniform day where students donated £1 to wear non uniform, events took place in the sports hall and students sold cakes at break and lunch time.

Throughout the course of the day £1632.79 was donated and will be sent to Comic Relief. So far their total amount raised is £75,107,851 and counting! The money will be spent in Africa and in the UK helping children. In Africa £500 could enable 40 children who used to work in the gold mines of Ghana to attend basic literacy classes, giving them the chance to go to school and work towards a brighter future. In the UK £500 could train 10 volunteer mentors to work with children growing up in tough neighbourhoods to encourage them do well at school and stay out of trouble.

A huge well done goes to Harry Eageling 8T who raised £116 by being sponsored to sleep on the floor for the week – well done Harry! Also well done to all the other students who ran activities or made cakes as this added a huge amount to the total raised.

As you will see from the photos we also had an inflatable assault course in the sports hall at lunch time which students paid 50p to have a go on. A huge thank you to Mrs Shipton who acted as head bouncer and to the PE staff who got hundreds of students through the course.

Thank you again to everyone who took part.
