Celebrations to mark Chinese New Year have been taking place in the Notley Library. Students were invited to take part in a special House competition to mark Chinese New Year on January 28th.

Students from all Houses have decorated Chinese Dragon masks. The results are amazing! Students have shown great creativity, adding feathers, tissue paper, glitter and sparkly pom-poms to their creations. A visual feast is currently on display in the Notley Library, all the columns and library issue desk and festooned with these amazing art works. At break and lunch students were also able to take part in the special Library Chinese New Year celebrations which offered a range of Chinese Craft activities, including Chinese lantern making and a Chinese Dragon puppet, and had the opportunity to test their knowledge of Chinese New Year traditions by taking part in a special Chinese New Year Quiz. The Library holds a number of events throughout the year which explore cultural traditions around the world. Winners of the mask competition will be announced next week.

Thank you to everyone who took part.
