On Monday 9 March 2020, Year 11 students received their mock results after an assembly with Dr Cusick. She started by talking about the importance of using resilience in order to “climb over the obstacles rather than be defeated by them”.

How students choose to react to their mocks will have a direct impact on how they will perform in their GCSEs this summer. Where students have been successful, they need to build on this success and make sure it is repeatable. Where students have been disappointed, they need to identify where and why things went wrong and work with their teachers to fix the problems. However, students must be careful not to accept just good enough – as this is saying that they are satisfied with not doing as well as they could. It is important that we do not set limits on what can be achieved!
