You may have seen press coverage yesterday regarding the Key Stage 3 Performance Tables published by the Department for Education and Skills.
These tables show the progress made by students nationally and in individual schools from the end of Key Stage 2 to the end of Key Stage 3 (that is, in their first three years at secondary school). I would like to congratulate our current Year 10, whose performance in the Year 9 National Curriculum tests last year placed the school second out of 80 schools in Essex, using the contextual value added measure to indicate progress made between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3. This is an outstanding achievement by our students and, as well as congratulating them, I would also wish to thank all the staff and parents who supported the students to achieve these outstanding results.
