During the evening Mr Newman reflected on the highlights of the past year at the School with mention of sporting achievements, various trips and visits and charity events. The evening was also marked with flawless musical performances from Michael Tomalin on the cornet, accompanied by Mrs Hanna on the piano, and Joshua Christie with a piano solo. Mr Baster, former Assistant Headteacher at Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form, delivered an amusing and thoughtprovoking speech on the power of ‘yet’. Mr Baster, who is now Assistant Headteacher at The Plume School in Maldon, spoke about how we often ask why we are spending time studying something and how it is sometimes not until years later that we realise the significance of that learning.
Many congratulations once again to all award winners.
