Hannah Speller has been awarded the Jack Petchey award for the month of September 2014, having been nominated by a member of her family, for her charity work.Hannah enlisted herself, her mother and a friend in the ’Swimathon’ at Braintree swimming pool after another friend’s mother passed away due to cancer. Hannah went door-to-door and telephoned people in a bid to raise as much money as possible. She raised a total of £430, which is amazing, giving £200 to Sport Relief and the remainder to Farleigh Hospice who looked after her friend’s mum. She has raised money for various charities, including money for Breast Cancer Care last year. Hannah’s family are very proud of how hard she works to raise money for good causes and wanted her efforts to be recognised.
