Our community were saddened by the tragic circumstances that occurred before Christmas whereby Emilia Kordaszewska, a Year 7 student at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form, and her mother, Alina, lost their lives in a house fire.
During her time at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form, Emilia was an active member of the lunchtime group, Action Equality. She was a student who was committed to making the society she lived in fairer for all and it was with this in mind that we held a non-uniform/dress-down day on Friday 3 February 2017, to commemorate Emilia and to raise funds for Hope House Essex.
Students and staff were asked to make a £1 donation, a cake sale was held at break and lunchtime and Rosie Ward, C1, contributed £265 by selling old games and fundraising with her family and friends.
A grand total of £1,747.75 was raised and a cheque for this amount has been sent to Hope House Essex.
A fantastic success; thank you all again!
