During the February 2019 half term, we were lucky to have the opportunity to work with and visit Real Madrid FC. The 49 students that we took with us all had a fantastic time, along with the 5 staff that accompanied them.

Daily activities included training at Real Madrid’s training ground and working with the Academy coaches from Real Madrid, a guided tour of the centre of Madrid and also putting our skills into practice in games against local Spanish teams. We even had time before boarding the plane home to visit the Bernabeu to have a tour of the magnificent stadium and see their extensive trophy cabinet, much to Mr De Gea’s delight. This was all topped off with another visit to the ground, but this time to see the Gallacticos themselves, Real Madrid v Girona. Whilst the result itself wasn’t what we had hoped for, we did get to see Sergio Ramos sent off in true traditional fashion, although this didn’t stop Mr De Gea from crying about the score! The trip was a huge success and I would like to thank all of the students for making the trip run so smoothly, the parents/carers for their support throughout the whole process and the staff that supported me during the trip - Mr De Gea, Mr Wishart, Mr Harrington and Mr Morbin.

Where do we go next?
