Eight Year 9 pupils:  David Hale; George Arkwright; Tim Smith; Harry Williams; Chloe Cushney; Laurelle Betts; Anabelle Spencer and Kaya Tokkan took part in an exciting film making project. 

Over three days in October the students planned ideas, learned how to use film cameras and other equipment and took acing roles in the production.  The experience gave them all a unique opportunity to understand how a film is made. The film was based around the Chinese element of fire and links to other films made in Essex schools, which all focus on Chinese elements (metal, wood, water, fire and earth).

Pupils worked with Chinese film maker, Xiaoxiao Sun who has links in London and Beijing.  The 5 minute film which they made  is to be shown during the Essex Jiangsu Film Festival at the Lakeside Theatre at The University of Essex, Colchester (Sunday 16 November – 11am).
