Colchester Institute Chef’s Roadshow visited the Design and Technology Faculty last week. 40 year 9 students took part in this event.
Several students made pasta with machines, two students had a competition for the best taglialtele carbonara and Chef Jason demonstrated a 3 course meal.
Several students had their first taste of fresh oysters and all of them enjoyed eating tarte tatin, a delicious dessert made from caramelised apples and puff pastry. Catering is a popular GCSE at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form and the courses at Colchester Institute are excellent.
