Pupils in Year 7 were given the opportunity to choose a book from the Scholastic Book Fair which visited the school last week. Students were taken to the fair during an English lesson and choose a book from a fantastic range of resources. There was an extensive choice of books, everything from Adventure, Thrillers, Fantasy, Humour, classic tales and non-fiction titles such as history of the First World War. The most popular book chosen by the students was an adventure thriller entitled “Earth Fall” by Mark Walden, which is set in an alternative future, and tells the tale of a group of teenagers surviving in a world facing an Alien Invasion. Students will be using the books in the New Year during their English lessons as part of their English studies.
We hope all 240 students enjoy their books; we look forward to students writing reviews about them in the New Year and will display the reviews in the Library.
Happy Christmas and Happy reading from the Library Team!
