Twenty students from Year 12 took part in a workshop with the Schools Liaison Officer from the University of Cambridge on Tuesday 10 November.

A recent Cambridge graduate, Finn talked students through the experience of studying at Oxford or Cambridge, from teaching methods to the collegiate system, societies and support on offer. We were also able to hear from current undergraduates about their experiences. Students were also encouraged in ways to think about their subject choices and advised on how to approach and prepare for an application, and in particular to think about the additional reading and preparation they can undertake, often known as the super-curriculum. This was a whistle-stop tour and was held remotely, of course, but Finn was able to speak to students via Teams and used Kahoot to invite participation from everyone. She has shared a number of resources which will support students making applications to Oxbridge and other high-tariff courses. These have been sent to students who participated and will also be shared via the bulletin on Friday. Thanks to Finn for sharing her time and experiences with us.
