As World Book Day fast approaches, here are some of the fun things the library is doing to celebrate.
- We are offering Love Heart sweets to anyone who submits a book review (to be displayed in the library and on Reading Cloud).
- We are offering a personalised badge of your favourite book in return for a review of that book (please collect a form from the library if you are interested in doing this).
- On 2nd March we will be launching the BAT Book Awards 2023. Five shortlisted books have been chosen for students to read and enjoy. Students can sign up for the BAT awards club which will meet once a fortnight to enjoy arts and crafts activities, talk about the books, write reviews – to generally share and enjoy the books. Club attendees will be asked to vote on their favourite book from the shortlist later in the year. The club will culminate in a special book awards ceremony to be held at Moulsham High School in the summer. Please speak to a librarian to sign up.
- Art & Craft club on World Book Day will be making miniature books.
Book Fair – 8th - 15th March
Our Scholastic book fair is running from 8th to 15th March, so there’s plenty of time to download your World Book Day £1 book token - the QR code is displayed in the library and on the attached poster, simply scan the QR code and it will take you to the bar code for £1 off a book or to purchase one of the free World Book Day books from participating retailers (in Braintree these are Sainsburys, Tesco and WH Smith). Simply save the bar code to your phone or print it and present it when paying for your book. If you are having a problem downloading the barcode, please come and talk to a librarian. The great news is that you can also use your World Book Day token to get £1 off all the books at the book fair!
In order to browse the books that will be on offer at the fair please go to https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/bookcases/tt
Look out on our social media and website in the next few days for the QR code to pay for books in advance. Students will also be able to pay cash for books when visiting the fair.
DON’T FORGET TO COME AND READ OUR FANTASTIC STUDENT BOOK REVIEWS IN THE LIBRARY!
