We were pleased to welcome ex pupil James Cook back to the Art, Design and Technology department here at Notley High and Braintree Sixth Form to chat to our students about his career path in the Arts. Particularly in architecture and more recently how he has become a self employed artist.

The students were very lucky to see James’ recent works using his typewriters to portray a range of London sky lines, local landmarks and portraiture; some of which were of A-list celebrities.

The students asked lots of questions about how he got into his work, how long it took him and the companies who have commissioned him. They were left feeling enthused, inspired and motivated to create their own unique works of art and the possibilities a career in the Arts could give them. 

We are so proud of what James has accomplished since leaving Notley and hope to see him again soon. 

If anyone has any old typewriters hanging around in their attics they wish to donate to James, please get in touch!
