The annual Spring Concert took place on Tuesday 26 March 2019. This was a lovely evening of music with many strong and memorable performances.  There were performances from all the school ensembles and many soloists.

The concert opened with two pieces performed by the Woodwind Ensemble.  Junior Choir has expanded in number considerably and they sang well throughout the evening with Bohemian Rhapsody being a highlight at the end of the evening.

The Jazz Band performed three pieces, including one featuring Hollie Ratoff as a soloist, performing Feeling Good, which she is using as her ensemble piece for GCSE. The Senior Choir has also increased in number and performed both Skyfall and Shallow.

The Brass Ensemble performed three pieces, including an extract from Pirates of the Caribbean. For one piece, Somewhere Out There, the brass group combined with some members of the Woodwind Group.

There were several vocal and piano soloists throughout the evening, all who performed very well including Jessica Rolls, Isabella Laithwaite, Olivia Tubbs, Lydia Copsey Mikaela Rork, Ava Moylan, Layla Hall and Hermione Elson.

I was pleased that we were able to include one performance from Year 12 students. Jade Flack and Alfie Dunham performed Moving to New York by The Wombats.  Both of these students have been working on this performance during Year 12 Enrichment.

The concert ended with a GCSE ensemble performing Crazy Little Thing Called Love, which was repeated as an encore at the end.

My thanks go to everyone involved for a great concert and we are already looking forward to the next one.
