During the week commencing Monday 20 July, Ronnie Williams, a Year 8 student at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form took on the challenge of completing the 2020 Virtual Montane Lakeland 50 event, during which Ronnie ran 50 miles over 7 days.

Ronnie achieved an overall finish time of 8 hours 34 minutes with one of his 10 mile runs completed in 87 minutes. Ronnie was delighted to receive some positive encouragement from former Olympian, Sharron Davies MBE, along the way.

Although Ronnie found the challenge tough at times, he put a lot of effort into covering the whole 50 miles alone, which took a lot of determination and resilience.

Ronnie chose to raise funds and awareness for Dementia UK and so far, Ronnie has raised £535 in donations (not including gift aid). If you would like to support Ronnie further, details can be found via this link: www.virginmoneygiving.com/RonnieWilliams1

Well done Ronnie we are extremely proud of you.
