Regional Final - Jack Petchey Speaks Out

On Thursday 28 April, two of our Year 10 students - Amelia Lewis and Evey Daly - took part in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge North Essex Regional Final, which this year was hosted by us here at Notley High School.

There were eight students speaking in the competition, from five different schools in Essex, and the standard this year was extremely high.

Both Amelia and Evey spoke confidently and passionately, and they really did do themselves proud. Amelia presented a very well-crafted speech, full of humour, titled ‘Not Another Family Gathering’ and Evey spoke highly articulately about a very thought-provoking topic - ‘Addictive Validation’.

I'm delighted to share with you all that Evey was crowned the overall winner!

Evey will now take part in the next round of the competition - the Semi Finals - and if she is successful, she will compete in the Grand Final, on stage in a West End theatre, in July.

This is a fantastic achievement - huge congratulations, Evey!
