On Wednesday 25th June Notley High School welcomed the return of Van Lodenstein Technical College from The Netherlands. 38 boys aged 14-15 years old accompanied by 7 staff paid a visit to our school to experience the day in the life of a High School in the UK.
The Dutch students were paired up with our Year 10 boys and observed lessons in the morning. In the afternoon a mini-Olympics was held on the school field where teams of Dutch and English students worked together on an assault course and a number of problem-solving activities. The day helped students from both countries learn how to communicate and work closely together as well as break down cultural barriers. I would particularly like to thank the PE department for their involvement in the day as well as to all the staff who had the Dutch in their lessons and also to the Year 10 boys who were involved in the day.Mr R.Tucker
