Year 7 student, Jack Ager, is the winner of Jack Petchey Achievement Award for November. Jack raised over £2,000 for the Make A Wish Foundation by unicycling from Braintree to Hatfield Forest along the Flitch Way recently.

The need to constantly pedal a unicycle in order to stay upright meant he had set himself an incredible challenge, made worse by many sections of the Flitch Way being waterlogged.

Current COVID restrictions meant a welcome party at the forest could not go ahead, but Jack showed great maturity and resilience by staying focused on the challenge.

This award is a fitting recognition of Jack’s achievement.
