I would like to say a big warm "Hello!" to all parents and carers who have children at Notley High School.  My name is Jan Preston and I am the Home School Family Worker for Notley High School.  I also work across at John Ray Junior and Infant school.

I have been working for a number of years now supporting parents and children across the three schools.  I offer a helpline to parents on a Monday from 9.30 – 11.00 am to offer support and offer advice about managing your child’s behaviour and other areas around the Life of a Parent!  It is a confidential service and the number to call is: 01376 332193.

I am also available at Wednesday lunchtime to see students who may want someone to talk to other than family, school, or friends.

I am pleased to be able to support a programme which is being offered by the Ministry of Parenting at Notley High School starting Tuesday 21st September 2010 lasting 2 hours each session, meeting weekly for 12 weeks.  This programme is free to all parents/carers/guardians of children who are going into year 7 and 8.

The STOP programme aims to help with strategies around limit setting and consequences and aims to provide practical strategies for parents to use with their teenagers. Click here for more details.
