Notley High School is delighted to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSE, and other qualifications this summer.
This year has been particularly challenging for the students due to the uncertainty of how the grades would be awarded and a series of disruptions to their learning due to the pandemic. Following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic. Notley High School will not be publishing data but we celebrate the success of all our students.
Amongst the very top performers are:
- Natalia Martin 8 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s
- Ella Hawthorne-Meares 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s
- Alexander Hope 5 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s
- Isla Dowman 5 grade 9s and 5 grade 8s
- Holly Christine 5 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s
- Nicky Wu 5 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s
We also wish to recognise all those students who have shown great resilience this year, particular mention goes to Millie Dowman, Hermione Elson, Michaela Clarke and Esme Clayden.
Dr Catherine Cusick (Head of School) stated: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. The students have shown dedication and commitment to their studies. This is despite numerous periods completing remote learning at home and uncertainty over the format of the assessment process. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto the next stage of their education or apprenticeships, and we look forward to seeing what the students will achieve in the future. We wish them good luck and best wishes”
