Students and staff at Notley High School were celebrating this year’s GCSE results this morning.
69.2% of students at the school achieved five or more GCSE passes at grades A* - C with 97.9% achieving five or more A* - G grades and 99.6% achieving at least one A* - G grade.
The school’s achievement on the new performance measure of five or more A* - C passes including English and mathematics, the headline figure used in the national school performance tables, was 57.7%, the best the school has ever achieved.
Headteacher, Simon Thompson, said: "Everyone at the school is delighted with these excellent examination results. We always knew this year group were capable of achieving such excellent results and we congratulate them all on their success. Teachers and support staff have, once again, played their part in supporting the students and I thank them for their tremendous contribution to the school. I would also wish to thank all the parents of last year’s Year 11 students for supporting their children through the examinations and the governors of the school for their advice and support."
