    Charity Lip Sync Battle

The Cavell House Council came up with the idea of organising a lip sync battle as our first charity event. The last 2 weeks I have been worried about finding performers, rehearsing and getting an audience. I needn’t have.

Mason Brown hosted the event with ease and created an awesome atmosphere in our theatre. 150 students and staff came along to cheer the acts, and boo some of the judges’ decisions (particularly over the lack of 10s for Oliver Sharpe’s performance with his puppet, Dave). Dylan Mills and Sterling Soligbo kicked off the show with Man’s Not Hot and 7 acts followed. The overall winners (decided by the judges and a public vote) were Oliver Etheridge and Mr Hardy with a touch rendition of Symphony (inspired by the BBC’s Christmas clip). My thanks goes to everyone who made this memorable event happen. We made over 156.65 pounds for charity and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
