Since the start of term, we have received a number of reports expressing concern about the behaviour of students who cycle to school. These reports have suggested that several students may be putting themselves and others at risk of harm by the way they are choosing to ignore road safety guidelines as they cycle to school.
We take the safety and welfare of students very seriously, and ask that if your child cycles to school, you speak to them about their safety and remind them of their responsibilities on the road. In the meantime, we will be seeking support from our community police team to help ensure that students stay safe on the road, and will keep our policy on allowing individual students to bring their bicycles to school under review.
