Attendance

At Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form we believe in working collaboratively with parents/carers to ensure the best outcomes for our children.  Good attendance and punctuality are essential if our children are to succeed academically and socially.  We are committed to improving attendance in line with DfE expectations.  If you need to report your child absent, please call 01376 556300 and follow the instructions.  Please note that we may return your call later in the day.

Equipment

Please be reminded that all students should have a pen, pencil, ruler and calculator as a minimum in their bag every day.  Please help to support us in making sure learning can commence as quickly and efficiently as possible by checking your child has their equipment.  We appreciate your support in this.

Extra-curricular Clubs

PE clubs have all started this week and other extra-curricular clubs will commence next week.  Students can ask the member of staff organising the club for a pass which enables them to get their lunch before attending and to be allowed entry into the main part of the school during lunchtime.

House Points

We are currently working on creating an automatic notification sent home every time a student is awarded house points, in response to parental feedback that more positive communication would be appreciated from the school.  We hope that this will be in operation within the next two weeks.

Uniform

Next week, we expect all students to wear their blazers during the school day so please ensure your child has their blazer with them.  Shirts should be tucked in whilst wearing their blazers.  If the weather changes, we will adapt our uniform requirements accordingly.

Welcome Evenings

Thank you to all parents and carers that have attended the Welcome Evenings so far; Year 9 have their evening on Monday 25th September and Year 8 on Wednesday 27th September.  Both start at 5:30pm in the Sixth Form Theatre.  Presentations from all the Welcome Evenings will be made available to parents and carers should you not be able to attend.
