Introduction from Mr Barrow
Thank you to those parents and carers who have taken the time to meet with me this week. I've appreciated your feedback and your support. I am very much looking forward to working in partnership with you over the coming years. From September, I will run a weekly 'drop-in' for parents and carers between 9 and 10 every Friday.
This week I have led assemblies, dropped in on a number of lessons, met with the School Council, and have chaired several planning meetings for September. This includes plans for a second canteen space for one year group. In addition, we have made changes to our Personal Development Curriculum and will be confirming our extra-curricular and Trips programme for 2024-2025 next week.
In assemblies I spoke about three simple but important 'rules' and 'principles' for all students.
- Always be kind and respectful.
- Always give your best effort.
- Be on time.
I have seen many examples of this week.
Finally, thank you to all students, the PE department and colleagues for Sports Day.
Mr M Barrow, Headteacher
Essex ActivAte
Working with a network of trusted local delivery partners, Active Essex runs these FREE face to face clubs during the school holidays for children and young people who are eligible for benefits based free school meals, as well as those from low income working families who would benefit from this extra support. We are also able to extend this support to children and young people who may be vulnerable to inactivity or social isolation, on a case by case basis.
Each Essex ActivAte club will deliver a variety of fun physical and enrichment activities, fun food education and a nutritious meal.
