Particularly pleasing this year have been strong improvements in Mathematics and English GCSE results, which will support many students in achieving their education and career ambitions for the future. 74% of students achieved A*-C in English and 69% in Mathematics. There were excellent performances from students across the board, including 37 students who achieved 4 or more A*-A grades each, a most impressive achievement. 40% of all grades achieved were A*-B.
Simon Thompson, Headteacher commented that “there are very many individual cases for celebration and we thank staff and parents and carers for their support of each student. We wish each student every success in their futures, whether this be further academic study or a vocational route. I am delighted that results have risen from 2014 in so many key measures, including 67% of students gaining 5 A*-C grades, 57% of students gaining 5 A*-C including English and Mathematics, 13% of students gaining 5 A*-A grades and 97% of students gaining 5 A*-G.”
